Rannaro's Riddles I

(Answers are not case-sensitive.)

My parrot wants a cracker,
I’ll squeeze a lemon, too,
But I must wait a full full moon
To make my dreams come true.

Take a piece of what you love
And add it to the stew.
You and your love are now the same -
Identify the brew.

High, high, earth meets sky
This creature lives where eagles fly.
Did Hillary see it? - said not a word,
Yet he walked where it lives, so he should have heard.

The Kings’s shield bearer paid it a call
A twelve-month, but knows it not at all.
Consider it well, play me no tricks,
Tell me its name ere the clock strikes six.

The moon shines bright in a cloudless night,
Its smokey light shines fair and white.
In moonsmoke clear no doubt or fear,
For all is here ‘twixt ear and ear.

But bloody moon brings dark at noon,
When none recall where thoughts are strewn.
Your mind, moon-scanned, rests in your hand.
Name this thing, if you understand.

Before you can run, you must learn to walk;
Before you can sing, you must learn to talk.
Before you can punch, you must learn to fall,
So learn this charm the first of all.

"Nothing to fear," the novices say,
"Shoulders to wrists we drive away."
With this charm in your bag, you can last the fight,
Or finish it soon, if you use it right.
